As Chardonnay Day is May 21, 2020, Shelley and Phil taste through three, yes three, Chardonays, all from Monterey County, California. A J. Lohr, their house white, and two different Mer Soleil’s, one with some oak and the other un-oaked.

In this episode, Shelley and Phil taste through two wines from the Piedmont region of Italy. Because it’s Moscato day on May 9, they are pouring a Bartenura 2018 Moscato d’Asti.  Then they move on to a 2018 Barbera d’Asti Pico Maccario Lavignone that came in their newest wine club pack from The Dinner Party.

We’re going blind again and in this episode we’re tasting the 2017 Duckhorn Merlot from Napa Valley vs it’s cousin, the 2017 Decoy Merlot from Sonoma. Second episode and second blind tasting! Which one wins out?

Since this is our first episode we thought it would be fun to celebrate with some bubbly! We tasted through a Jean Diot Brut Selection Champagne we received from the GaryVee wine club back in December of 2018 and compared that to a Barefoot Bubbly Brut Cuvee.
